Sports/Agility Foundations Classes
This is a 16 week (2 eight week sessions) class to build the foundations for continuing on into the running type sports with your dog.
Session1: June 4-July 31 & Session 2: Aug 14- Oct 9 (for those wanting to continue on to Beginners Agility you MUST take BOTH sessions).
Session 1: Concentrate on Focus, Body Awareness, Motivation, and introduction to agility/obedience/rally obstacles. Goal is to build confidence in your dog, learn what motivates them, create a bond for life (every day and/or competition).
Beginners: This class is for dogs 5 months and older. Everyday good manners and responsible dog ownership are taught through basic obedience. Topics : controlled walking, coming when called, sits, downs, stays, jumping.
Intermediate: Polishing skills learned in Beginner Obedience for the well-mannered dog and those possibly looking at going on to competition training.
Tweeners: This class is for those who have successfully completed our Beginner Obedience course but want more! We will work with refining the heeling, quicker sits & down, longer and more reliable stays and recalls.
For puppies 12 weeks to 5 months. Puppies will be socialized to handle new situations and people. Owners are initiated in training basic obedience commands such as: come, sit and
down. Also included are house training, general puppy care and leash training.
For 4H youth learning and handling their dog in Agility, Rally, Obedience or Showmanship.
This is for those interested in learning about and/or those wanting to/or currently competing in Rally Obedience. This involves dog/handler following a sign-based course. You will learn the general rules and experience courses. Great for teamwork building!
